haha i didn't mean it that way. but heres a insight. look at the number 1 album for the past couple weeks and where do they stand? http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/index.jsp

theres alot of people like you that were disappointed, but then theres alot or people that enjoyed this album. but like it or not, they defiantly changed their sound approach.

this tends to disagree =p http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/chart...+Billboard+200

in the long run only time will tell, but debuting at number one is good.

but it does mean that they have gigantic budgets for every album. then not to mention their tours and everything. vs what? local bands who are poor playing at local venues. good bands too. i consider most things on the pop radio stations .

debuting at number one really doesnt mean as much as it used to. billboard is going off of cd sales. but keep in mind that those sales are affected by the internet, wether it be illegally or legally downloaded, theyre not counted.

linkin park started off as a underground group, they were good enough to jet into your "mainstream". even being "mainstream" the still sold their albums keeping their sound identity aka hybrid theory and meteora. Keeping the nu-metal sound, now this new album doesn't have the same nu-metal edge to it. Therefor causing some hardcore fan to label them as sellout to the music industry pop/rock. Thats what i meant by sellout.

exactly, theres nothing to take away from them, it is what it is: their album sold the most when it was release, even when their cd was leaked on the internet 2 weeks b4 launch. Even when all the critics/fan were bashing their change in play. Thats why i said only time will tell if the album does well, but at the early point it is.

yea William hung if his cd is still in circulation and the rest of the cds that are being sold at your local music stores. If you haven't notice i mentioned only time will tell if the cd succeed overall. And in the early weeks it is proving that it is selling at a good rate, selling overall at number 1 and number 2 the first and second week, respectively. and thats overall, in the rock billboard they are number one both week. and no William hung is not their competition in the rock chart because he belongs in the novelty chart . and the reason why i even mentioned the billboard is because someone mentioned its not gonna sale. However statics owns opinions.
