street or no street? another poll.....

just wondering who has converted to "track only" status (parking lot only also).....i just made the switch to "track only" after seeing what has happened to a few friends. experienced or not.... happens, and you can't stop it. i enjoy riding...but i have a family that needs me here. i'm ALMOST satisfied with riding the track only. although i start gettin itchy between trackdays sometimes.

well...what's your riding status?

I wanna go to track only, the only thing that keeps me riding the streets is the rising gas prices.. However I think I will so be track only junkie if I have it my way :icon_bigg

still on the street. I know the dangers associated with it . leave it at that.
I know what is possible.

i still ride to work or go out for a short ride every now and then. I wish I could go track only but I don't have the money to pay for enough track time to justify having a track bike. Probably going to sell the SV at the end of season. Once I finish school I'll resume get a track bike. Really sucks when I think about how long it'll be before I can get a track bike.

me too, but I can't afford to ride 10 trackdays per year, let alone have a bike dedicated to the track only. I like riding on my SMR's.

with caution, riding the streets can still be somewhat safe....still dangerous nonetheless.

Track only for me. Last time I rode the street (with you Tony) after 4 months of track-riding, it just didn't satisfy me because I couldn't push it. Besides, I was too comfortable riding triple digits in traffic so.... I know I'm not responsible enough to control my speed on the street. I will be staying off of it for now.

I've been off the streets for almost 2 yrs, but I'm starting to miss the get togethers, rides out of town, and meeting new people. Think I'm gonna go tag my bike this week

But there are some things I definitely do not miss though.

that's exactly what i said before......after going to some consecutive track days.....then riding the streets.....it's just not the same. same ol' rides every week to the same ol' spots with the same ol' cops.

i'm with Mulatto *derek*....i don't have the self control to take it easy on the streets, so my current decision is to just ride the track until i feel responsible enough to not risk my dodging traffic and speeding through the forests/country roads.

i went through almost all the phases of riding (posing, night rides, twisties, stunting, drag, cruising, sunday morning, track, etc) and just do track now. once a month of intense riding is enough. its a hobby, not a way of life for me.
