wow, thats not covered by warranty? i'd try another dealership!

we had an issue where that happened with a gixxer. customer claimed it wasnt his fault. we werent so sure (he was total noobsauce) but our service dept. tried to warranty it, and suzuki said they would foot the bill one time out of good faith for the customer.

might be the service dept your going to doesnt want to try...

FWIW, I wouldn't go with aftermarket, stock typically works the best.
Give me a shout Tuesday and I'll get you a price, I'm typically 15 - 20% lower than the dealer.

no, a clutch shouldnt be covered after say 5-10k miles, but if the mileage is really low? say 1-2k miles...now if its a noob rider it may be his fault (riding the clutch) but if its not a new rider something was wrong either from the factory or something not done right during assembly.

sounds like typical "we're not gonna warranty that" .
i would say find another dealership to try and get it warrantied (sp?)....if you get rejected, talk to patrick.

The '07 clutch setup is not interchangeable because they redesigned the whole way the transmission is mated to the motor to save space. Heck, I just learned a couple of weeks ago the the oil pan from the '05 and '06 isn't even interchangeable. Other than the bad adjustment, how do you like the '07? I am dying to try out the new cassette style transmission!

just install the clutch yourself. I put 16,000 miles on my bike in the last year and the clutch was gone. I had a buddy help me out and we were done in no time, although he had experience replacing motorcycle clutchs. The one thing he had never seen b4 was 2 of the back friction plates were broken in 4 places; that was from my less experienced riding when i first got it.

That's what you get for buying anything but Yammie

Joke's aside - it should be covered under warranty, try a different dealership.

Its really upto the service department to work with you or not.

who replaced the clutch cover when the bike was downed? said person probably adjusted your clutch incorrectly. For what it's worth, a manufactures warranty is in place to cover manufacturer defects, not improper installation.
