Wow, that was very mature of you to extend greetings with him. My history teached in Highschool told of us the time he met one of the Japanese soldiers who guarded the consentration camp he was in during WWII some 40 years after the war. At first he was very nervous, even angry and scared, but in the end he was very happy that he did it, gave him closure. So, perhaps, you may not get any closure from the exprience, but if the other guy does, then all of this would be a good and noble thing.
