Red Cross is good or bad?

I personally prefer local donations but just saw Red Cross advertisement on the MH website. And remembered reading about the corruption with in and the amount donated versus organization expenditures being so low. Including their false claim of " 91 of every dollar that is donated goes to its services. " While, their CEO gets paid over 500k a year.

I'd like to urge everyone to donate as much as possible of course. But also, anybody else know more on Red Cross accounts or would like to mention some other good charities to donate to?

My donation dollar goes to the Army Emergency Relief fund. It's dollar for dollar, overseen by on-duty military personnel and volunteers. It helps struggling soldiers and families, who for some reason or another face difficulties not of their own doing. The other armed services have similar funds.
Peace through superior firepower... or something...
