Actually Toe has met you a few times. Thanks for the compliment though. You're liberal is "entitled" to your own opinion too.

The typical projector is still meant for a single point light source from either halogen or HID bulb. It has an internal reflector that redirects that point light source. The front lens then creates the beam pattern. I have yet to see an LED conversion "bulb" meant to go into a H1/H4/H7/H8/etc. socket that is able to emit from a single point.

If the light source is not a single point source, or if that point source is not at the correct focal point (which is what up most bad HID conversions), there will be scattered light bouncing around and ending up at the wrong places... thus giving shelnutt more ammo to fire his cannon.

I think if we dumb this post down and translate it into something all you HID using folk can understand, what it says is:

"You just spent a load of time/effort/money "upgrading" something that worked fine already and no matter how you try to justify it, you are still blinding the out of everyone."
You're welcome.

btw, Shellie... I did not say what you said I said, not even in spirit.

You want to blow people's head of with your cannon, great... but as the Canadian Mountie said to Elliot Ness in "The Untouchables":

"I do not approve of your methods!"

So If I have a stock housing on my GSXR I can insert LED's and get brighter lights than HIDs?

Is that what I've read here?

If so is it simply a bulb replacement or do I need ballasts and all that jazz?

The LEDs do not require a ballast from what I recall, but they do have a large heatsink to cool the circuit. I have no idea how well this works in a housing not designed for it.

If your housing can't supply them enough cooling air you will rue the day you installed them. Replacing melted mounts is a true pain in the neck!

Just put some rigid led spots on the front of your bike. I have them on my rubi along with a 50" light bar. It's great for when people cut me off.

The lumens seem to be overrated on every single bulb. You've got to pay attention to the reviews on these to get a real sense of how bright they are.

Since it's already bought and paid for at this point, I'd like to see the end results.
