feels like i'm being scammed...

Ok my brother bought this bike from this guy. We tried paying in check but that guy's bank said if we did that it would take 2 weeks for the check to clear before we get the title but they said if we paid in cash we could get da title right there. Da guy lived 45 minutes away and we didn't want to come back in 2 weeks so we paid in cash and got the title. Now my stupid brother lost the title before finishing up the paper work. We been contacting the guy and he said he's tried to claim a lost title for us but says da lines been too long and that his family members been in the hospital... but it's been over 4 months now and he still hasn't done it. It's even hard to contact him... seems like he's never home... :eh: We also been to his house twice already to talk to him about this but it doesn't seem like he's willing to do anything. I'm hoping he's not reporting the bike stolen and trying to get it back.

Any suggestions on what i can do???

All you can do is go to the county office to try to get a title. See if you can get the seller to give you some kind of receipt or proof of sale (you should have had that anyway).

Type up a bill of sale, both of ya'll sign it, and take it to the DMV office, and apply for a new title yourself, showing that you are the currnet owner, with the bill of sale.

he did everything that he had to do. yall shouldn't have lossed the paperwork.

and with the bank clearing a check...he is correct, it can take awhile for the money to go into his account. There's absolutely nothing wrong with protecting himself.

How is he scamming you? He thinks YOUR SCAMMING HIM!!!!!

He completed the transaction, he came thought with his end of the deal.

He is probably thinking that you are trying to scam for something since you are the strainger who bought his bike and are now continuiously harrassing him.

Your brother is a F---tard.

he owes you nothing IMO. He's got his money and you've got your bike. tis not his fault your brother lost the title. someone should have been more careful with that little blue piece of paper.

Seriously though your brother should take care of this himself. Go online and print the form off the DMV website, take it to the seller to sign and your brother needs to go stand in line to get it taken care of. Why should he go through all this hassel if he already handed you the title?

Yep, just as everyone else said.

If you feel like your being scammed its your own fault, the guy did everything he had to do, its not his responsibility to replace the title, its yours or your brothers.

Yes, we have the bike. We don't have a bill of sales... my brother probably lost that too... yes, he is a dumbass and f****ing losses everything. I know it's not the original owner's responsiblity to do it for us but we had no idea to do it without him. I'll probably go myself and tell him to sign a bill of sale and take care of this all myself. Do you just write out an agreement about the purchase or is it a legal doctument you gotta go somewhere to do?

, you guys are Ruthless! Easy on a fello MH member...Go to any tax office and ask them for a BILL of Sale form. It's on a plain sheet of white paper but has all the info. they need for proof of purchase then you can probably file for a new title. Just ask the tax people, they can definetly help...but its a long line they ope 7:45-4:45 on chimney rock. Good luck!
