They have had Indy cars test there for years, but I don't see them racing there with that narrow track. I'm not sure the surface is much worse than most of the street circuits they run, but resurfacing has been long overdue.
I think basic track improvements have to come before the silly amenities. If you're trying to cater to people with Ferraris, Lambos and Porsches, they don't like beating their cars up on a surface and they don't want to end up in a swamp if they get a little carried away.

, they're already successful if you apply their stated gauge for success:
"Romerica Entertainment is excited to make MSR International the best private race resort in the Houston area."

That's for sure. Those cars bounce around like crazy on some of those circuits.

I read that they are concerned about current placement of guardrails (west after the launch is a near death experience), run off (east side of launch is a rodeo), etc... i did not read it to say they are going to install more. If they know their heads from their they will see lot of things to correct.

Look at google earth, then use the date adjust function (lower left corner), to see what was there before the track was there. Then you'll have an idea of what the runoff feels like at high speed.

overall I think this may be cool, but definitely not gonna be a cost saving measure for riders.
