If members bail becasue of cost and the trackdays go up to much there isn't alot of racing events that would sustain the track to the place where it is let alone an expansion. But like I said on this one I hope I am very wrong!
good luck with the new trackside condo residents. They will be devoured by the mosquitoes.

I thought in the open members meeting it was mentioned that you had briefly talked with them. I guess I misunderstood.

I've only spoken with management, I've had no contact with the new owners.

One might say its already having an impact as Ridesmart is only doing 5 days there this year while they are doing 10, count them, 10 days at COTA as opposed to 4 at TWS (Texas World Speedway) and 8 and 10 at ECR and Cresson respectively.

MSRH has been overrun with countless track days and non members essentially having as much access to the track as due's paying members have had. Hopefully with the new owners it will become more exclusive and member driven.

Even Rio Bravo has a pool! LOL

Those articles are from 2003, 2004, and 2007....that's about 7 years ago. Somehow they seem to still be in business. Anything more current?

I've raced several times at Autobahn Speedway in Joliet, Illinois and it's exactly what they're trying to do here. It's a true country club atmosphere and they cater to the members. When you race there, you only get to use one section of the track; the other part is always open to the members. They have managed to attract members to build custom homes with major league garages in a "less than desirable" location, near an industrial park and shipping terminal, 40-50 miles south of Chicago.
It CAN be done, but can THEY do it...we'll see. (I'm skeptical)

Barber would be another example of a track in a less than desirable location that was made successful with deep, deep financial pockets.

Barber has a museum and a much better landscape with some elevation changes to help it along.

I see a poor ROI if this goes through.

They did the same thing at Belle Rose back home (not all the spa though). TTD didn't last a year after that. They catered to the "car guys" and the money. A lot of us normal folk couldn't pay the cost, and didn't like the reduced days for the 2 wheelers.

In the second link it says they won the case and were awarded 94 million usd...of course they are still in business.

The second owner of the group is Gabriel Haddad. The Haddad's are a very wealthy family in Mexico.

My point is that the new owners have very deep pockets. What they are saying may sound like a pipe dream, but they have the money to make it happen.

Not much can compare to Barber. That place is world class and the scenery around the track is beautiful. If MSR caters to the wealthy I am sure they will come, but as said earlier, that area? Flat, swampy, and mosquito infested. Would be nice to see some world class karting races if it really happens.
