Extreme Cycles

Has anyone or anyone you know had any dealings with Extreme Cycles in Stafford? They have a bike I like but I can't find very much information about them.

What is "dealership ettiquette" from those of us with more experience buying bikes? I have had my good and bad experiences with private parties and dealership (like) settings with used bikes mainly, because I refuse to take the first hit on depreciation mostly,

but i've always wondered, is it acceptable to start popping a bikes tank off and looking thru the carbs/air filter/etc on a bike you are seriously considering purchasing, in the middle of a show room with other bikes? Just to make sure you dont get home and find that the bike you liked oh so much is dirty as on the inside.

These are things i wish i had done regardless of the weird looks and odd conversations one would have while in the process but at the same time, i feel very weird doing them because others arent, and it doesnt seem to be the norm (has anyone actually done stuff like this?)

but then again its YOUR money so you kinda have to do some due dilligence on your behalf sometimes as well.

Dont want to off topic on your thread OP but i do think this sort of falls in line since you seem to be dealing with a dealership that you have no rapport with and I would be inclined to have the bike inspected by another dealership (which also happens to be an Indy) Motorcycles unlimited.

Undoubtedly extreme cycles wouldnt appreciate your vote of no confidence very much but they would have to appreciate the fact that you are intelligent enough to let (your) experienced mechanic go over the bike...make a decision on the bike...etc etc.. Or if this is a used bike, you could simply ask for compression/leak down test and results and all the other stuff thats not included in their 45 point intensive inspection of used bikes.

Is this bike used? new?
