Surgery update

Well, everything went well with my daughters surgery!

When they called her back, i wanted to be with her so i go to the pre-op prep room and sit with her, the nurses come back and attach all sorts of machines, tubes and oxygen to her, then they start pulling out syringes and needles galore, stuck in the IV gave her some pain meds, then start marking her leg up so they could numb (block) the leg from the pain, this is from the knee down only. It was hard watching them stick all those needles in her but she felt nothing at all.

She had officially cut 2 tendons and 2 nerves in her right leg. The Dr's were able to find and repair the 2 tendons just fine, as for the 2 nerves, they weren't so lucky. Could not find either nerve so they couldn't repair them, even if they had found them the chances of them working properly is very slim b/c they are so tiny in size to begin with. She did just fine in surgery, as they always say, " she was lucky", "had it been a few more cm she could have lost her leg". Well, she's at home sleeping now, the pain meds given to her should be wearing off this afternoon and she'll be popping the vicodins. It's gonna take a while for this to heal, i'm thinking somewhere close to a year, She'll have a permanent loss of feeling in the top of her foot unless we do some extensive exercises to get that feeling back, thanks to Guzzigirl for calling me and filling me in on all the little details of what she should do in order to help her regain that feeling.

Thanks to everyone who came to bring her flowers and candy, to all those who have PM'd us wishing her well and a quick recovery. our house now smells like a floral shop with dozens of roses and other assorted flavors.

Thanks for the starburst henry!

Some of you have asked to come over and visit, please feel free to do so anytime!

Thanks for the update, I'll have to see when I can get over there, I had no idea that she was going to be there all summer, that is great cuz I know I'll be able to see her alot more than I have in the past.
