Local kids get a big gift from Texans players

Christmas came early for dozens of local kids.

Not only did they get to meet players from their favorite football team, they were also treated to a huge shopping spree.

The kids were all smiles as Texans players towered over them.

"It's just so cool to be with a football player," nine-year-old Derick Hill said. "If my dad were here, he'd be freaking out totally. He'd be so excited."

Thirty kids from the boys and girls club of greater Houston and the Houston Texans YMCA were given a $100 Academy gift card to buy whatever was on their Christmas wish list.

From skateboards to bow and arrows, carts filled up fast. Texans players helped the kids figure out what to buy, but most didn't need much assistance.

Now these kids just hope their parents don't make them wait until Christmas day to play with their new toys.
