have you mocked up anything? you could always use Sketchup to make what you want hand that off to a fabricator and cut the price significantly, since it takes the R&D out of your "solution"

Can it be ugly? I hacked one together from an extra grab bar, an old Ducati license plate bracket, and some FZR suspension dogbones (don't throw anything away). It works as good as the store bought versions.

What bike is this for T?

I'm getting ready to make a rack for my Sprint, but I doubt it'll turn out "pretty". I don't plan on having a rack on unless I've got camping gear strapped to the bike though.

That was for a Caponord.

I would NOT build them for a Sprint, hard to make pretty and hide them.

I would buy from Twisted Throttle or OEM....depends on the boxes you want.

My question was directed at Tmax and which scooter it was he was wanting to put a rack on.

On the Sprint, I'm going to be using Wolfman soft bags and won't be using a rack. I'm making a top rack to hold tent, sleeping bag, whatever. It will be detached when not in use, so I'm not worried too much about how it looks.
