Turn signals are not required in Texas, I've passed inspection with one missing on a dual sport. They have never asked to see mine work.

What did you do to get pulled over two times for? Unlike your car's sticker inspection stickers for bikes are usually not readable from more then a foot away.

Not trying to start an argument but the teenage help they hire at those places are clueless. Even if you find an inspection place with someone that actually knows the rules, that person will not be working there next time you go.

The dual sport was a few bikes ago. :confused1 I have taken the FZ1 on gravel a few times though.

at the junkyard

if they're there, they must work. if they don't work, just take them off. this has been covered many times. why go through the trouble of possibly failing and having to go up there again.

the two inspectiong tickets were in my old pickup truck. Got one as i pulled into my driveway at my house (cop was going the other way and turned around). got the other one the NEXT day while pulling into my work to park (cop followed me 3 miles before finally turning his lights on). My inspection was out for longer than 60 days so i had to pay for both. $140 for one and $120 for the other. Was driving that truck cuz the truck with current tags decided to throw a piece of the valve around in the engine....

No excuse for not having inspection....which is why i was getting so annoyed by things breaking last now off..........j/k:laughing6

Don't know about the rest of you, but before I take a vehicle down for inspection, I take a minute to walk around and verify all the lights are working, horn honks, etc. I would never ride or drive around on bald tires, so that is a non-issue.

The other one I can never understand is the 2-3 months expired inspection/registration.. in a car you look right at the things every time you drive, right?

Keep your paper work and receipts from your attempts to get it inspected. If you buy the parts and happen to be riding before you get them put on, keep the receipts for those too. When the State Insp. is more than 6 months out, you gotta pay the ticket no matter what, like you said, but if you can prove to the officer that you are making progress and attempts to make the vehicle legal, they will most often cut you free with a warning. Even if they still cut the ticket, you'll stand a good chance with a judge if you have the paperwork to prove you were working on it.
