Houston Dynamo hire Owen Coyle as new head coach

The Houston Dynamo have hired Owen Coyle as their new head coach.

According to the team, Coyle guided Burnley Football Club to promotion to the Barclays Premier League in 2009, the first time the club reached England’s top flight in 33 years. Under Coyle, the Clarets also reached the League Cup semifinals in 2008.

Coyle become's the Dynamo's second head coach ever.

Dominic Kinnear stepped down at the end of the season to coach the San Jose Earthquakes.

Kinnear led the Dynamo to a 152-116-107 record in all competitions with two MLS Cup championships during nine seasons with the team. They made the playoffs seven times and won four conference titles while he was at the helm.

We'll post more details here as they become available.
