John McGuinness to race with Mugen at 2015 TT Zero
TT winner teams up with Bruce Anstey for second year in a row
JOHN McGuinness will be taking part in next year’s TT Zero race with Team Mugen.
The 21-time Isle of Man TT winner will team up with Bruce Anstey for the second year in a row.
Last year, with no competition from four-time champs Motoczysz, McGuinness helped Mugen take their first electric class win at the TT by setting a record-breaking 117.366mph lap.
Called the ‘Shinden San’ - following on from the original Shinden and Shinden Ni – the 2014 bike used a carbon fibre chassis fitted with a new motor making more power and less weight. With 134hp and an all-in weight of 240kg, its figures aren’t quite in the modern superbike league just yet, but they’re getting closer every year.
McGuinness suspects the Japanese firm will have an all-new bike for the 2015 race.
