Glad you weren't hurt. I hope more people safety wire their stuff after seeing this. If anyone at the track needs something safety wired, I'd be glad to oblige. I've got plenty of wire. Look for the red and white canopy covering and old bike and and old rider.

we tried to retrieve the video off his card but the file was corrupted. brand new hero 4 was toast after the impact

I bought a tether ring off ebay just for this reason. It replaces the the ring that holds the lens on the housing and has a slot to run a zip tie or safety wire through.
