Is it normal?

Is it normal to have some rusting on your chain?

I've had my bike for 2 months and lately have been riding in the rain a bit. Now I've noticed some rusting on the chain. Is this normal?

It's normal if you don't keep it oiled.

I never keep anything out side. You must be keeping it out side and not maintaining?

I hardly lub my chain? But I keep my bike in a garage. But it I had a enough room it would be inside in the A/C. Like it used to be!:icon_smil

Get your priorities right. The bike is prolly worth more than the in the garage.
Even if it aint, it is more important. Put the in the rain and the bike in the garage, then lube the chain and all will be right in the world once again.

Lube your chain and take it for a run. That should remove most of it.

My rides average 175-225 miles... I lube my chain every other ride. Everytime I get stuck in the rain, I lube my chain shortly thereafter.

Dont just lube it, try to clean the dirt and old oil from the chain with a spolvent that wont damage the O' rings.

You can get some chain wax in a can for the external parts that get rusted. It works great for keeping the chain from rusting up. Also you need to use some good quality PJ1 lube.
