May 28 Ride Smart recall

got in one session since i skipped the round robbin and ran some good times on my first 5 laps. didnt break 1:55s today since it rained though.

IMO, there needs to be a better plan for rain days or atleast some sympathy from the track people. just my .02

I hope the rainy season ends soon. April showers bring more showers in may.LOL

Hope June is a little drier

I was signed up for it and all ready to go but a 5:00am check of the weather told me to go back to sleep and not waste my time to even drive up there.

I think that the owner of TWS (Texas World Speedway) will charge the event organizer for track rental rain or shine, so it may not be fair to blame the organizer if rain prevents getting sufficient track time. It would be nice if there was some form of rain contingency.

hate to break it to you guys but the day turned out to be okay after the showers came through. The sun came out for a little while to help dry the track (along w/ 20 or so cars) and it wasn't bad.

Not too bad after all........kind of interesting to ride on a slippery track though
I for one learned a lot today, can't wait to try it on a warm sunny day though.........maybe Cresson will be nice on the 8th though.

I think Ride Smart came up with a great solution to the wet track and sad faces - they let anyone and everyone with a 4-wheeled vehicle go out and ride the track for ~20 minutes. People looked happy to get the chance to drive it with their friends and family (lots of smiling kids in trucks) and all those tires got the puddles dried up in no time!

Turned out to be a great afternoon, Finally got to meet Nut this morning but all in all turned out really nice. My lap timer showed I was running 2:15's most of the afternoon, Not to bad for level 2 rider.

After a session and a half the rain came and it looked
like game over. I almost bailed but decided to hang
because there was a slim chance it would clear up.
Things started getting better after a couple of hours
and they said anybody with a car of truck is welcome
to help dry out the track. It sure was freaky driving my
truck on a track that I had only seen from my bike! When
we finally got back out on the track I wasn't really diggin'
my front wheel sliding through the streams of water in
several corners, but I did pick up a new faster line through
turns 1 & 2. All in all it turned out to be a pretty good day.

Ok, I've got:

BigComfy
Nutmeg Choi
Rob78
BlackWidow
Red5

Anyone else on here that wants me to sift out their pics from the masses needs to tell me what they were riding (bike color/leathers) and number sticker.

I had a blast out there after a long time not having a bike. The morning was kinda suck, but in the afternoon my buddies and I had some great sessions. My bike had secondary throttle problem and top out at 9500 rpm, so everybody blew by me on the straight, but I reeled many of them back on the corners so I didn't feel too bad.

Hey Squeaky count me in on the 5/28 pics.
I was in Group 2 on a black GSXR 750 w/
fluorescent yellow trim and blank white
number plates except for the stylish pink
Ridesmart #24. If it helps I'm in mostly
white A* leathers with a blue, black & white
Colin Edwards helmet.

Big thanks from Lump9
