636 ECU question

I have a stock and kawi performance ECU for my bike... My question is if I used the performance ECU can I use a PowerCommander III or would the performance be the same as using the PCIII. I want to upgrade my exhaust and I want to know if the maps can be changed on the performance ECU using the PCIII or should I sell the performance ECU and use the PCIII because it will kinda do the same thing? Someone tell me I didn't waste my money?!?!

Depends on which model, ecu, ecm, ecp, or ect. Call the dealer and give them serial the # to verify it. Kawis? can't keep it simple...

The PCIII does not "write" maps to the ECU, it intercepts the signal between the ECU and the injectors and modifies it.
That being said, you can use the Race ECU, however there aren't any maps available specifically for it so one would have to be custom built.
I can call Shannon at Attack on Tuesday and see if he can offer any more insight if you'd like.

a lot of guys seem to be running the race ecu and a pc3 together with good results. it allows them to do a little bit of tuning on the bike without having to buy the 560+ dollar harness and software.

This is the link to the ECu, http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame...intCatalogID=1, I have the wire harness adapeter and a "stock" harness I was going to modify to be interchanged when my bike goes track only. I do not have the PC interface kit, so it has never been installed... Still in the factory packaging and all. If you can see about that for me Patrick it would be awesome. Thanks for the info guys, I'm not a bike tech, left him in MN. I sure would be interested in finding out how much $$ I will have to spend to get the most bang for my buck... I'll also look into that M4 exhaust you had mentioned. Is it better than the Beet Racing Nassert R Racing exhaust system that Kawi recommends for the track? Wrong thread I know...

Just found out my link is dead... Go under Ninja, ZX-6R, 2005, then performance parts I believe. I have a ton of motorcycle parts just laying around right now, some in a bucket and some right here next to me. I want to make sure I do everything right the first time and save $$.

William,
Give me a call later today on the ECU.

As far as the Beet Racing Nassert R Racing exhaust system, I've no experience with it.
I know Attack uses Arrow though.

From my experience with "race kit" exhausts though, they're typically no better than any of the well built systems out there, especially if the engine is stock or close to stock internally.

only nice thing about the beet exhaust is they're made out of inconel, which has amazing heat insulation properties, even better than Ti. but it'll cost you. the system retails for 2300 bucks. NO THX! it's gains really aren't any better than an M4 or Arrow system. it's fkn GORGEOUS tho! lol
