12v and radar detector

i plan on installing these two and was wondering if the 12v being connected to the battery would draw when nothing is plugged into it? the radar is going to tap into my lowbeam fuse at the fuse box

I wouldn't tap into the low beam. I would just run it something from the battery, just make sure to unplug a device when bike is off or add a switch. I just installed a dual usb port on my bike and works great. Can charge my phone and use my camera all day with out worrying about the battery dying.

This is what i bough:

Also originally i wanted to run a radar too but, during the day you wont be able to hear or see the lights going off so pointless. Would only really work at night a little. You would have to buy the extensions that fits into your helmet and lights up a little or the adapter that can be plugged into your earphones. Good luck if you get it working good i would like to see the set up.

I've had mine hard wired and forgotten to turn it off that's the reasoning behind tapping into headlight it will only be on when the bikes on, also my windscreen is so black that I can see the light in day riding too and can hear on street sometime and during night real visible which is when I want it more anyway

To do this properly you should use the headlight, or taillight as a signal wire for a relay. I wired a fuse box under my seat which is only live when the ignition is on (taillight triggered) and then run everything from there (GPS, driving lights).

If your running a radar, im going to assume you have a good one that is about $400+. I would think you would remove the device anytime you parked and not let a nice radar be open to theft. There for forgetting to turn it off should not be a big problem as the radar should go where you go.
