It must not have been the 05. Th earlier models have quite a spike in them. The K5 is sooo SMOOTH. It is extremely linear.

The R1 is an incredibly sexy bike. Much better than the earlier Gixxers. Not the K5.
The Suzuki *is 5 lbs lighter, Better chasis, suspension, brakes, not to mention the new egornomics are much improved over last year. I would have bought an 04 R1, if I knew that the Gixxer wouldn' t kick it's this year. The Yamaha just doesn't have any steam below 10,000 rpm.

He's right PORSCHITO. The ZX-10 is a very bad bike. I have been a Yamaha fan all of my life. Every since the 01 gixxer came out though, they have been playing catch up

if i'm not mistaken, the R1 has the BEST brakes in the business!

I could care less what your frst bike is it's like preaching to the choir trying to tell someone they shouldnt get a first bike as powerfull as what you have. *I'm talking about the way you were probably told by others to get the r1 and it's the best and all that that's probably the only "proof" you have that it's the best other than actually knowing the numbers. *
