HALFFAST Racing Group - Thank You!

Race Report

Gustl Auinger (Red Bull Rookies Cup Coach) tells the kids…”there are times you have to learn how to lose races to be able to learn how to win!” We didn't take 1st place this year, but we did celebrate what we accomplished! HalfFast riders like Mark Shim did get a good taste of winning for all of us! Thanks for taking letting us share in that Mark!

Halffast Racing Group started off the year with lofty goals (top 3 in 250 LWE). With all the other fast teams moving to 300s and 500 LW bikes, we figured we would have a good shot at podium for the 250 LW Endurance. We even beat some 300 and 500 teams in some of the rounds by just being consistent. Did we mention one of our Owners took home a bunch of podiums in LW and 600 sprint classes?!
We placed 6th place and our Beta Team placed 8th in the ESSE class at TWS (Texas World Speedway)! Ultimately, we finished the season in 3rd place completing our intended goal!

We were also able to learn and share with each other (priceless!). We cultured a teamworkenvironment throughout the season, emphasizing the ‘meaning’ of being on a team, and encouraging that it is more than just going fast and being able to grid up. It takes hard work, the right people, commitment for an entire season, and finally the drive to make things happen. Sometimes just being a rider isn't gratifying, and some don’t have what it takes. Most of us are learning what it actually takes to have a successful race team and running one. Nevertheless, all of us have learned what it takes to be part of a great community and track family!

Thanks to great team owners (Joey Gutierrez and Mark Shim), we were able to build these two teams. Team Captains (Mark Shim and Chris Palacios)really pulled the team together and helped coordinate logistics; but the Owners always takes the hit. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate it what you give to your first family!!! Joey, as always, had the bikes working perfect in time for the race. Also thanks to HALFFAST GROUP for all their support and enthusiasm for our accomplishments, you know who you are! Hats off to our Beta Team for concluding a great season, as well as supporting other fellow racers (e.g. serving BBQ at the CMRA parties this year).

The teams have much to look forward to end this season… a beautiful newborn baby racer (Jacob Ryan Short) and two weddings to plan! Can’t wait to see what next year has in store.

Racers, Donte and Umayr, grew quickly as riders and really picked up the pace. They gained knowledge racing the 250 and riding in general. Robert met his goals of racing. Big thanks to him for taking care of our business end of things ($).We even helped other local riders, Hector Barreto and Andrew Callis, in catching the racing bug. Chris Palacios was a great help, not only to the race teams, but with HALFFAST Group efforts to support the community sharing his knowledge at the local meets. This is the HALFFAST spirit we try to embody.

We want to thank everyone who supported us! Hopefully with some more seasons under our belt and growing as riders, we can take things to different, better levels. For now our level is friendship and passion for the sport we share!

2014 Sponsors: RideSmart MCS, Whoopies Cycles, G&S Transport…. and of course our Halffast Ladies.
