SHNF "Fee Free weekend" but they're closed?

The USFS is Offering Fee-Free Access Over Veterans' Day Weekend
The U.S. Forest Service is offering its final 2014 fee free day at most of its day-use recreation sites over the upcoming Veteran’s Day Weekend, November 8th through the 11th.
On the agency’s website, U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell explains, “These fee-free days are our way of thanking our millions of visitors but also to encourage more people to visit these great public lands. These lands belong to all Americans, and we encourage everyone to open the door to the great outdoors.”
No fees are charged at any time on 98 percent of national forests and grasslands, and approximately two-thirds of developed recreation sites in national forests and grasslands can be used for free. Fees are used to help cover the cost of safe, clean facilities. You can use the Forest Service map to find a national forest or grassland near you.
The fee-free program is run in cooperation with other federal land management agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. Fees are waived generally for day-use areas, such as picnic grounds, developed trailheads so important to motorized recreation and destination visitor centers. You can contact your local national forest or grassland directly or visit the website www.recreation.gov to learn if your intended destination requires a fee and if that fee is waived.
The Forest Service announced its 2015 fee free days last month. Next year’s five fee free days start with Martin Luther King Day on January 19th and continue through Veterans Day again on November 11th. For more information on the 2015 fee free days, visit the USFS website at: USFS Fee Free 2015
If you do take advantage of a fee free day on a national forest or grassland, we’d like to hear from you about the experience. Please send us a description of your day at grassroots@ama-cycle.org.
Now more than ever, it is crucial that you and your riding friends become members of the AMA to help us protect our riding freedoms. More members mean more clout against the opponents of motorcycling, and your support will help the AMA fight for your rights – on the road, trail, racetrack, and in the halls of government. To join, go to AmericanMotorcyclist.com/membership/join.

I checked this morning. It's open again. Game on mofos. Nothing like riding for free on a nice weekend.

Wow what a great day for a ride. Got Gixxerkelley to come out and ride with us, met Byrdman and a couple more MH guys out there also. Trails were in fantastic shape with just enough moisture to make them fun to ride.

Who's big idea was it to put all those trees in the forest? Seriously, isn't there a better place for trees? Good times and no surgeries required.
