Kawa zzr600 has proven to me to be a good starter bike but most suggest starting with a 250 or 500. I rode the ninja 250 in the Beginner riders course and went back home and practiced the same drills on my bike and got my skills up b4 hittin the streets. As far as the diff. b/t the ninja and the hyosung, i dont know much but i would go with the ninja

ninja 650 is a great beginner bike i can def vouch for it i think it would be best to have some kind of dirt bike experience or msf b4 riding one but no tweaky power bands and lots of torque

hyosung = JUNK
search this forum, i believe someone went out and took one for the team and bought one.

i'd rather stick to japanese bikes. and hyosung is made by koreans or something....they probably only exported them to us because they have planted WMD's in them.

Thats kinda what happened with me, first off didnt even put the bike in gear till i had a helmet and then wore pants,gloves and a leather jacket. But anyways I was terrified to ride it i mean i had'nt even ridden a dirtbike in like 3 or so years but I geared up went down the street in my quiet lil hood and got pretty comfy with it. It was a beautiful thing. Not comfy enough to be on the road but I kept practicing and practicing in my hood and parking lots and then took the beginner riders course. Practice practice practice. I still have lots of room for improvement. point being i still think the zzr600 is a good starter bike if you dont abuse the power
