Be careful with that. Flashing your lights is generally the signal that you're letting the other person go ahead of you.

I hit my high beams and leave them on until I've gone passed them.

I've learned to read drivers pretty well, except the creepers. You know, the guys that come to a stop sign/light and keep creeping forward like they're going to take off. They me off..

Kenny Robers is creditted with saying credited with saying. “ Go fast in the fast parts and slow in the slow parts”. He was speaking of racing and track riding but the same remains true of street. Driveways or side streets of any kind coming up on your right, with any kind of on coming traffic on a non divided roadway (meaning no, or breaks in the median or barrier separating you) equals slow part! Neighborhoods equal slow parts, no matter the time of day or night. Same thing with shopping centers on the right on a multilane street. Don’t plan to blow by in the middle or far left because soccer Mom is going to pull her minivan into YOUR lane with an unnecessarily wide turn, it’s like an un written rule. More over left turners are going to panic and instead making their turn and proceeding safely out of the way, they are compelled to STOP so you can hit them . I'm sure they "hate to do it, but its the Law of the west."

There are plenty of places where cross and merge traffic and sudden non stationary hazards are minimized, those are the fast parts have fun, then shut it down for the slow parts.

Agreed. Maybe if the police had indicated "well over 100mph" as they sometime do in reports, OK, but otherwise I'm inclined to think the rider was not going terribly fast. Look at the damage to the car; it did not appear very bad.

We have all seen much more damage. No need to assume speed was a factor when a car pulls out. To go so far as to speculate a speed is just stupid, baseless, and pointless
