2009 R1 Stolen

Just a heads up to those who frequent downtown Houston, my bike was stolen this week. It's a 2009 red/white Yamaha R1.

I work downtown and use the motorcycle parking in one of the garages nearby. You'd think the chances of it being stolen are slim, but it's not. I had another bike stolen two years ago. I stopped riding the next bike to work for while, but I started again because it just a lot easier to commute.

I contacted the property and security and filed a police report. While filing the report, the officer tells me that's this was like the third report this week from the same area.

I'll keep my suspicions and opinions to a minimum here, and I'm not too hopeful about my ride being recovered, but consider this a warning if you find yourself parking in downtown Houston. If a bike can be taken that easily from a "secure" area with patrols and cameras, they're not safe anywhere.

Yeah my gsxr was stolen Oct 10th from downtown by clay street and main street. Still haven't found it. My coworkers R6 was also stolen 2 weeks ago from 2 blocks down the road, but they found his abandoned in Beaumont with the steering and ignition broken. Sucks hardcore man. Sorry about your loss.
