Anyone have experience with an 01' Buell Blast?

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photo...uell-Blast.htm

Looks like we have the chance to pick one up with 1400 miles on it for really low $$. It's a 2001, bought brand new in 2003. Previously owned by a 50yr old LADY, lol.

Anyone have any experience, comments, etc about this? It'd be for my g/f. Anything to look out for when I check it out? Any known problems with them?

Input is appreciated.

Thanks,

I "hear" they are really easy to ride and don't go super bike fast. I like their engineering ideas. Oil in the swing arm and gas in the frame.

Ive heard that they are super timid. Would be suitable for a newb, but not much beyond that.

they have alot of issues with stuff breaking and locking up the rear wheel and dumping the rider. They also have a history of stalling during a turn and dumping the rider.

Was on my short list of beginner bikes, ended up getting a 250. I just heard that the early Blasts had some issues that the later models addressed, so keep that in mind.

We have one out here I use to teach beginners on. As Ninja Nana said it does have a very low seat height - great for the vertically challenged. All that being said - they are great for a low speed trainer bike, other than that they are a total POS.

After reading a lot of reviews, it seems that reliability and maintenance are a constant issue, so I think we're going to pass.

The front wheel bearings are a major issue too. They tend to always be going out.
