Where do you drive regularly? I'm assuming you rarely drive through the galleria or any similar area of downtown.
You sure you have the skill to ride a motorcycle on the street?

I'm sitting on the 20th floor of Enterprise Plaza at 1100 Louisiana Street right now. . .I drive 30,000 miles a year (that doesn't include rental car miles) and see far more windshield time, red lights, traffic jams, and idiot drivers than most people on this forum. Calling me an and dudley do right idiot for my opinion? Now that you have the address, you want to bring me that kicking?

dude troll someone else with that nonsense B.

I wasn't in a hurry, I was driving defensively. you must not drive there often either. go to that interstion. you'll see.
I'm a cautious driver. That's the only ticket I've ever gotten.
people haul in that area. the line of cars turning was moving at a good 30mph. about ten ft before the turn the light turned yellow for about .01 seconds and then red. There is no doubt in my mind that 1) I wouldn't have been able to stop time and 2) Theres a good chance I would've been rear ended.
If you say a you've never went thru an intersection after it turned yellow for fear of being rear ebded, you either just started drivinf or are full of it.
You mention motorcycling which is funny seeing how there's a high risk of being rear ended. If I had been on the bike I definitely would not jave stopped if I could do it over again.

the human reviewing the video has a very limited field of view and also probably isn't the smartest person in the world.

I was born last night so I don't know . (FYI, I had my own car and license at 15). You could slow your roll as you approach the world's most dangerous intersection. That would force the drivers behind you to slow down too, or you could find a safer route and prevent certain death.

Some folks still think the cameras are still in operation, keep letting them believe that! Look it's like anything else in life, people are going to get away things as long as there are no consequences. Like the dipshits that ride the diamond lane on 290 very morning that know perfectly well they don't belong on it. Put a few cops out there everyday and I guarantee they won't be on it any more. Cameras are in fact a deterrent and have proven that; but I think what upset most people was the whole profiting thing.

It's not the profit that bothers me. All traffic tickets are more about profit than safety IMHO.
What bothers me is the proliferation of automated monitoring of the public. It should bother all of you as well.

I suppose the news story that covered that intersection and all the people who got together and lawyered up, subsequently not having to pay the ticket were also all born last night.
FYI that was my first time at that intersection. Didn't realize the yellow light only lasted .01 seconds. I started using the post oak exit from there on.

it's good hear some of you guys haven't been rear ended or recieved a ticket. that's great considering statistics show an 800% increase in accidents and it's common knowledge that the cameras increase accidents.
Can any of you address that or do you want to continue the 'just don't break the law' bunch of BS?

Jet I'll be there at lunch time. Be sure and wait for me outside.

Like anything related to government contracts, I don't doubt there were backroom dealings and shady bits going on. Money changes people. That's an unfortunately constant.

It doesn't mean the baby should be thrown out with the bath water, which is exactly what the voters did. Voters tend to react strongly to fear and negative ads. That's another unfortunately constant.

.01 seconds? Get real. If the light was defective that has nothing to do with a red-light camera. You're going to blame one defective light for crashes at 50 other intersections? If you got off what are you about?

I've been rear ended because someone had their head square up their like most drivers. I'd been stopped for at least 30 seconds.

Traffic lights aren't hard to figure out. If it's green, it will turn yellow followed by red. If it's red, it will turn green. You're welcome.

It's a common myth that the cameras increase accidents. Don't stop believing.
