However you look at it, that's what these cams are.
If the way you prime her up is by getting her drunk first, well...that's what these red light cameras are. They are the drink that is getting you drunk, so you will shut up and take the pounding that is the speeding cams.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

Your analogy seems off, but just a hair. I'd say the perception of "extra safety" is the alcohol in this case, but the only way you can get it is by drinking their shitty "trash can punch", the red light camera.

Hey you only live once man
May as well run some red lights while you're at it before the cams go back up.

This whole thread just really shows how you can pick certian pieces of a study out and make the info work for whatever side you are on.
It also depends on who funded the study, ect.

Some people were questioning where I got my 800% increase in rear end collision from, saying I pulled the number out of my .

I can assure you that they did not come out of my . I got the 25% figure from the Insurance institute site that the pro cam guys were posting.

The 800% figure came from this site: http://www.motorists.org/red-light-c...h-county-times

I was on my phone yesterday and didn't feel like finding it, because this whole subject is one of those things where I think your mind is already made up, no matter what anyone tells you.
A lot of people who are for them have witnessed serious accidents and I can understand that.
I on the other hand, haven't. All I saw was how I was falsely accused by one and who the shows up in court over 75 dollars? Not this jew.
In the end I think we are all more influenced by personal experience, rather than some study where the info has been skewed to fit someones agenda.

Please don't ask me to get more specific because they are all the same scumbags with the same general agenda.
Jet was saying that as far as he can tell the federal government is not profiting on the cams, so there is no way they would have skewed the study he posted to be in favor of the cameras.
Sooo.... I suppose the federal government has absolutely no interest in the general idea of monitoring everything you do?

Now it sounds like you're talking about riders that don't do much actual riding

is that some kind of joke. In Houston, they had to vote them down TWICE. They cited some kind of BS technicality with the first vote, so they claimed it was invalid, then after they got voted down again.

After the second vote, they were STILL sending people tickets, claiming that there was some type of clause in the contract with the camera company that overrode the change in legislation
I remember the news story very clearly as it was of particular interest to me, after being falsely accused of running a light. The person on the news basically said that while technically they can't tell you NOT to pay it, however, there was really nothing that could be done to you if you didn't.

So did you take them down? Did they get taken down? I need updates. Are there red-light cameras in Sugar Land?
