We should be respectful towards the guy, his family, and friends.

That being said, just because it is upsetting to those close to him does not mean that it cannot be discussed on an open internet forum. If he was indeed riding recklessly, then people who ride with similar careless abandon may benefit from knowing about this.

Please don't turn this into a shitshow.

RIP to the rider, peace be to his loved ones, and wisdom be to those who ride on the edge that read this thread.

I'm not that reckless with my life and I do enjoy a spirited ride... but seeing that image definitely will make me think more about being safe while riding.

Pictures are worth a thousand words they say... sometimes they are worth a lot more.

I hope that if I ever go down on my bike someone will learn from whatever mistake I made. If there is any benefit at all of any of us going down it is that we might be able to teach someone something. We might be able to prevent something similar.

I am of the mind set that every motorcycle wreck is because of a mistake. Maybe poor maintenance. Maybe going to fast for conditions. Maybe ignoring someone coming out of a parking lot. Maybe it is assuming that car coming in the opposite lane is going to keep going straight instead of turning in front of me. Beyond acts of almost all wrecks require someone to do something wrong. ...just my opinion.

I understand why people somehow feel it is disrespectful to analyze an event like this. ...especially for someone close to the party involved. ....but I also feel like it was all for nothing if no one learns anything from it. I think we can be respectful while analyzing this. At least I can.

I for one am against posting such graphic photos. Even if the family posted them I would choose to not look at them. My imagination is good enough on it's own.

R6Goat I am truly sorry for the loss of your best friend. Condolences to you and his family.

Just to be clear. None of us can know what happened. Only and those involved.

For all we know, even if he was splitting, some guy in his truck bmw, mercedes, or whatever, could have been tryin to be a bully.

I for one have experienced this numerous times, and i for one will not be bullied into not splitting. I guaranty we have all have tried to be bullies to other cars, or even motorcycles. If thats the case check yourself, you can kill someone.

Wut?! I'm sure witnesses caught at least a glimps of what saw, unfortunately he payed the hefty price anyone would face in that scenario. My deepest condolences to those left with the pain and loss.

"Bullied into not splitting?" News Flash, it's illegal! If you choose to do it you also choose to accept the risks that accompany it. Sometimes that risk is an on 4 wheels, sometimes it's the on the bike.
