Main reason they don't release the individual's name is so that the family has the opportunity to hear it from the proper authorities and not from any kind of media first, and that includes a motorcycle forum. I did not see the picture; but am really glad I didn't. I take that stretch of highway every day and couldn't imagine seeing what some people saw and having that image burned in my head!

I didn't see the wreck but RIP to gentleman who lost his life.

I grew up in the mountains of NC not 30 min from the Dragon. I saw a guy have his head taken off by a road sign. He had his gf/fiance/wife/idk with him and I can only assume that when he realized they were going to wreck he pushed her and the bike one direction while he went the other.... his head was left in the helmet. It was awful. The gf was screaming her head off and I can only imagine how messed up she is from seeing that. It's just not worth it guys.

Hopefully people will mourn my loss, and pray for my family. Otherwise, keep it to yourself.

I had a wreck once - lucky in a left turn otherwise it could have been deadly. Yes I was going fast, but yes I was in control. My problem was target fixation on the rider ahead of me who went wide and wrecked - pieces and parts and him flying everywhere ahead of me, kicking up dust and grass. I delayed my turn for a split second and the ditch came too fast for me to compensate - otherwise it would have been fine. My fault - yes. Target fixation - can happen to anyone. Could I have died? Yes - my bike flipped over me and could have landed on me instead of going across the ditch. Could I have not gone down and instead hit one of the approaching trees and broken my back? Yes Would anyone have blamed Darwin? I hope not! Would I want my kids to see my destroyed body? No.

Think, people.
Tell you what, I'll make a deal with you. I won't post pics of your mangled body if you promise not to ride like a total wreck less douchebag around me or my family. Deal?

Glad someone took that photo down. My cousin was 7 vehicles behind the scene. She was stuck there from 6:30-8:30 amidst the wreck investigation. Prayers to the young man's family and all that had to witness the wreck and it's aftermath.

Maybe you make sure about your assumptions - but nonetheless, it's not your responsibility to make the decision on how I was riding, or if my mangled body is yours for the publishing. How about that, smartass? DEAL?

And by the way - what you think of the rider has nothing to do with this 'deal'. The obligation is to THE RIDER's friends and family, not to YOUR friends and family to communicate your anger and disgust. Got that?

You should have thought about that before you turned that key on and split cars on the HOV. Huh?

If I even go down I don't mind if y'all post pics. The media does and my family doesn't even have the slightest care to look at forums.

This wasnt for purpose self gratification nor any of the other reasons u mentioned. i guess you were never in High School at a time when all Seniors were taken to a place with extremely graphic scenes from the result of drunk drivers. If this were to ever happen to a son of mine ( and I pray it doesnt) I would hope other lives can be saved by educating them of the result of reckless behaver. So I guess this makes me a quote and quote Idiot in your eyes. If this is the way U and this forum feel I WILL WITH Haste remove all and any connections I have with this online community. It is clear to me you would rather say RIP instead of saying "Enough is Enough with young men leaving behind families". Good bye MotoHouston and I will no longer attend any of your meets nor ever visit this site again. I guess Im just tired of seeing our men die and typing RIP in the comment section.
Adios
