For all the proponents of MJ for migraine relief, you are partially right and partially wrong.

Smoking it can relax you which is good, but is also raises your blood pressure and heart rate which is NOT good.

Throughout the years I have tried just about everything to help with what I feel is my only health issue. I have tried imitrex (redi tabs and nasal inhalers) it works ok sometimes. The only thing that I have ever found to be reliably helpful is to take a small dosage of a mild narcotic (codeine, codone, tramadol) at ONSET and to do everything possible to relax completely. Small doses are more effective than large because you can avoid the rebound effect. I try to avoid caffeine because If you are allready loaded up on caffeine, more caffeine will just make a headache worse.

Good luck to any and all that suffer from this . It sucks big time having a headache last for days.

I have tried imitrex, and the shots. Neithe worked. I have Tramadol right now. Takes it away fairly quickly but for some reason I feel like I get headaches more often when I take prescription pills to get rid of them.

You gotta slap, follow through and do it again with the back of your hand.
Shell listen then
Form is everything, and practice makes perfect.

Too large of a dosage....Narcotic rebound effect. Try taking a qaurter to half of a tramadol, get well hydrated, relax and pass out. A hot bath or shower can be the ticket for muscle relaxation.
The ideqa with the narcotic is just to take the edge off, not to get rid of the headache. You then try to work on relaxing the headache away.
