anyone here get migrains (sp?)

I've had a migraine since like 10p.m. took some excedrine migraine but it's still there and it's been hurting so bad it's made me throw up a couple times. Anyone ever have them this bad. ON top of all that my sinus and allergy problems are firing on all cylinders too.

Migraines actually work differently in your head than just a plain headache. So, migraine medication is usually the only relief, regular OTC headache stuff wont work(even if it says migraine).
My boss gets them really bad, and has his whole life. He swears up and down that the prescription, while very expensive, is THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

So, maybe you might just have to suck it up and get a scrip. But, if its only a sporadic thing, and is truly a "gun to the head" kinda pain I would say the Migraine scrip would be worth it.

oh yeah, and flame all you want, but marijuana relieves pressure in the blood vessels, especially the one behind the eyes and in the frontal lobe of your head. A reduction in pressure would give you some relief.
Dont know if thats your cup of tea though.

I have had them since i was a little girl. I go to the dr and get meds for it but when i don't have any I take tylenol pm, and I drink it with a coke. Something about the caffeine... I am down to maybe one a month now. No matter what meds I take, I HAVE to get into a good deep sleep, hence the tylenol pm. I have learned that no matter I take, migraine medicine and all if I don't sleep in complete darkness it won't go away. Was that your first one?

I get migraines about once a month. They aren't all that painful, its just the other symptoms that suck. It'll start with an aura ( shiny sparkley thing ) in one or the other eye, then sight in that eye will narrow down to a tunnel. Depending on which eye that occurs in, the opposite side of my upper body will go numb. By that time I've lost the ability to form coherent sentences.

All of that passes within an hour or so, then the slight pain and nausea starts for about two days.

If I can catch it early enough, I can usually halt the process with some excedrin migraine. If not, then I'm screwed until its over.

Britt
