I was able to take the MSF course for free through the Army at Fort Hood and got my class M about three months prior to ETS'ing.

May be something to look into in order to save some money.

I tried doing it like that, but with all the recent budget cuts they do not have the MSF on base anymore. they do reimburse up to 120 dollars though.
