ducati issues?

Just bought a ducati and I'm having issues finding neutral when on the stop light, it also dies when I take too long to find the nuetral; it wont die if i find it fast enough, other than that the bike is flawless. Is this a common problem or is just this particular bike?

So the bike won't idle if in gear and the clutch lever is pulled? That should not happen

I've heard of the false neutral problems but not a bike stalling because it was in gear . What RPM is the bike at when it is in gear ? I've had to reset my TPS but it was because the RPM's were to high when I came to a stop . You might have the same issue

Also does it feel like your clutch is fully engaged and not dragging ? If your TPS was off and the clutch was dragging slightly it could cause it to stall

Adjust clutch and idle, maybe have to adjust TPS. That may do the trick.
To answer your question, no, it's not a common problem with Ducatis.

It will but when I try to find the nuetral and take to long it will stall. If I leave my clutch lever pulled in without messing with the gears it will stay idling

Throttle position sensor. My old 93 900SS would have a false neutral every once in a while; but nothing like what like you are describing.

This.
If you get a chance, bring it by and I'll test ride it and give my opinion, no charge.

Clutch ADjustment. I assume you say it dies because you release the clutch lever.

I had this problem with the same year as your SF. It has something to do with the Brembo Master Cylinder.

On the Clutch bleeder screw...unscrew it 1/4 a way, then pull in the clutch. Make sure a towel is handy so you dont get fluid on your bike...then release the clutch and re-tighten the screw. You will now find you can find neutral easier.

I have had to bleed the clutch periodically on all the Duc's I have owned. Hopefully, this is your only issue. Also, post pics of the bike.

Clutch might not disengage properly or lever free play adjustment might be a bit off

Any leaks at the master or slave cylinder?
