To give you an idea, in June of last year I purchased an '07 R6 for $4700. It had revalved forks, full safety wire, full exhuast, PC3, two sets of bodywork, clipons, rearsets, spools, spare sprockets, folding levers, and lever guards.

So not only are you in the ballpark on price on a bike that's a FULL GENERATION older (yes its an '08 but the tech is old and slow). In my head. that's why it's not selling.

So far as the 250 vs your R6S, any 250 will be competitive in that class, while your 600 isn't going to be close to another 600SS.

So you're saying that if I were to run a 250 and the R6S on 610 - the 250 is competative?

Nope the r6s is way down on power to every other 600 while the 250 will have the same hp as every other 250.

Right - so why should 250's be selling for $3K and my 600 which way out performs them should go to $2K? Ok - it's an R6S - can we get beyond the "S" and figure bike to bike.... Basically i'm hearing that less of a bike is worth more. I don't get that.

250s are popular now. It's about demand and your bike is just not in demand

My profile has my bikes. It's in every one of my posts.

I could ride if you want, it won't make it any more valuable. I'll still think it's worth $2500.

Would you like another list of everything that counts against it?

The reason I keep the tread going is because I absolutley hate it. It's like cramming one of my dog's dry piles of down my throat, but I think anyone reading this will get an idea of what bikes are really worth. Like I mentioned, I do custome painting and a lot of guys get some aweful painted on their bike and now - just because in their eyes it's "special" it should be worth a grand more.
Fact is, I wouldn't waste the gas (and gas is cheap now) to set the mother on fire.

SO - - I HATE everything you guys are saying, but what choice do I have but to believe it? I'm ordering 08 race plastics. Gonna paint them white, orange, yellow, and black. I'm sure the bike will go at least 30 mph faster and have 80 more hp.

I would NEVER waste even $1000 on a GREAT shape 250 when I can get something 5 times better. And if it has ubly paint - WalChina has rattle cans for $3.

Like I said earlier I wouldn't paint it anything, let the buyer decide and paint it the way they like it.

Don't waste your money on more race plastics. The 03-05 R6 and 06-09 R6S all had the same bodywork. Do paint it the better colors though.

Only make a list if what counts against it is relative to other bikes that are average, still priced higher than mine. My bike may not have solid gold race parts, but they sure as 773H are better than stock bikes selling for more. And keep in mind - ya gotta admit - iI'm NOT selling it for $65,0000000000000. According to what I see on other venues - 773H, I seem to be in the ball park.

So unless you can do a VIN check, which I did ($6) and find out it was flooded, stolen, burnt, totaled, chinese copy, I just can buy these factors as valid reasons to sell it for half what other bikes go for.

I'm NOT tring to rip off anyone. What's on this bike are good improvements.
My Dr. also told me to get back on my meds - so that might be more of a valid reason than anything else......

The only other 2003 sport bike(which is what this is) I have only seen it compared to a $2k bike. So besides old suspension, old chassis, the fact mods don't add value, low power for a 600 and super sketchy "street legal kit" you don't have much going for you.

Honestly at $2500 you'll probably still have a hard time selling it. Not much demand for old outdated sport bikes.

I'f you've been following the comments - the 05 plastic looks like I"m trying to hide something.

I think the 08 plastics look like something to put on inside of a cement mixer. BUT - I appear to be covering up something I want hidden from a buyer.

The real question, "if" it is in such good shape and well maintained, is:

where are the factory plastics and why were the different year plastics put on?

This, you have the original style race body work on there, call it what it is.

If you're talking about going to 08+ R6 body work then you would really be hiding something and trying to trick someone into buying a much different bike than what they are getting.

I doubt the 08+ R6 plastics will fit it
