Boots suggestion

I have an amazon gift card and decided the amount is good for a decent pair of non vented boots. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. My typical shopping is go to store, find whatever I hate the least and buy it so I want to do more planning this time.

I want a non vented, street boot with decent walking ability. No track days, no 8 hour rides.

Any reason you went with those over the Dainese TRQ-Tour?

Good reason. My other boots have been vented and this past winter I paid for that when riding in freezing weather at night.

How hot can it be outside with those boots and still comfortable? Those are appealing for the price.

I originally had Alpinestars SMX-Plus or something about 4 years ago. Didn't like it, was too bulky. Switched over to Sidi Vertigo Airs and loved them. Felt thinner, more mobile, and not as bulky. They discontinued the Vertigos but not sure what they have currently that's that replacement. Your best bet is to go to a local store (like 2 Wheel Toyz, that's where I purchased mine) and try them out. I'm sure Alpinestars has improved the bulkiness of their boots but you might prefer something over something so try them out first.

My purposes probably fall under touring but that just seems to mean less protection when it comes to boots. The SIDI Cobra gore tex seems way more popular than any of their Touring models.

Again, I recommend trying them out in person so you'll see which one fits you the best. Both Sidi and Alpinestars are great so it really boils down to personal preference.

What are the tradeoffs though? Something comfortable in a store is different than on the road.

I am assuming this

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/s...gore-tex-boots

is more comfortable and has less protection than this?

I'm by all means no expert lol. Usually you can gauge the comfort of a boot by trying it on in a store. You should talk with our local vendors or even Sidi themselves for better insight.
