Thanks for the kind words. I did a lot of the labor myself. I had no brakes, headlight, taillight, my exhaust was on my back tire, and some things were just tweaked or smashed. I did all of the work up until the bike was in one piece and capable of driving to Motorcycles Unlimited. Once it got to Motorcycles Unlimited I asked them to replace the swing arm for me with one I bought on eBay, it was a bad swing arm too. I have the factory service manual and all but when I read the directions on swing arm replacement I decided to let someone with experience do it for me. I didn't want my bike riding funny or falling apart on 290 in front of an 18 wheeler. Then there were various engine parts that needed to be replaced because of bad mechanics in the past or road rash. I paid a pretty penny for my bike to get fixed. $2750 in eBay/Kawasaki parts (some of those parts I still haven't used). I then sent it to Motorcycles Unlimited and he took care of everything else. I do agree that I could get a lot of experience if I did the mechanical work myself, but 1. I'm lazy and 2. I wanted it done right the first time around. After it was all back to new again it was about $3200 at Motorcycles Unlimited. So in the neighborhood of $6000. Pics one and two are fresh out of the ditch no parts removed yet, there are plenty of pics between there and pics three and four which is where I drove it to Motorcycles Unlimited, and then five and six when I got it back from Motorcycles Unlimited. I feel good about what I paid because I feel that my safety and my bikes quality are at a high premium.
