My poor ZIXXER

Ok, so for those who know and those who don't. I wadded up my 636 a while ago. I spent a good deal of money on parts for fixing it. I brought it to Motorcycles Unlimited to have Tony (Houseofpain) paint it and Patrick to finish the once over and replace my swingarm and tires and also do some regular junk done to it. I get a list of items to be fixed and I ok it. The next two weeks I was stuck on an oil rig in the middle of the gulf. I get back and pay the amount for the work, and hear some bad news. Front wheel bent horribly and replacement rear swingarm bent worse than the first one I brought in on the bike. So I ok them to find replacements. I get involved in a car wreck and a few weeks later come back in to check out the progress. No spare parts are out there! So new Kawi parts it is. When they did the oil change saturday they noticed that my oil plug was stripped. So new oil pan is on it's way... :BangHead: I'm not going anywhere memorial weekend on my baby, even though I have been rushing through physical rehab to be ready for it. I'll put some pics up in this thread later after I get the bike back from Motorcycles Unlimited. It will be an entirely new ZX6R with the exception of the majority of the motor and the main twin spar frame and front forks. I could have bought a new one by now and have decided that if I ever do have the choice of repair vs junk it, I'm going to junk it.

My cousin laid my RR down on one side, and also cracked the crankcase. After relieving him of the money to fix it I said I would never fix another bike. It really does cost way to much to fix them if the damage is major.

Have you talked to Tony about the scratch/dent? He helped nutmeg out a while back with something similar.

Thanks for the hug Crystal... Helped my day out!

I like to look at it as I'm getting an entirely new bike. The only reason I decided to repair instead of junk is because this is the first one I got off the show room floor and put all the miles on it myself... Guess there was sentimental value to it! Patrick and the guys over at Motorcycles Unlimited are really on top of it though and taking great care of me. If I wasn't spending so much on major repairs it would be on suspension and handling upgrades.

Yesterday was my first day walking without an air splint! Felt good to feel semi normal, at the end of the day though I had a grapefruit for an ankle... Nothing ice and rest can't fix... Seeing as it will be another couple of weeks before I get my baby back I'm fine with that... I see the light at the end of the tunnel though!

And yes I'm whoring my own thread, so be it!:laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6

Or not... keep it shiny side up this time, K?

LOL, I never go to PP1... Shiny side up was the plan all along! I'm no poser or squid, I promise. I don't do tripple digits on public roads anymore. My accident didn't happen on a highway or feeder either. Gravel got me.

When you get back on your feet and want to take a relaxed country ride, drop me a line. Me and the woman are in the cruise mode lately
