So very sad. I had a very good friend commit suicide when I was younger.
While it hit all of us very hard no one was completely shocked aside from his parents.
I wished I would have told him something I'd learned long before: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
No matter how bad you think things are, 99% of it is temporary. Hang on, reach out and you'll make it through.
My condolences to her family.

I remember Kinnlyn. She was on the first MH group ride I ever went on. She was very cute and friendly. Enough so I remembered her from that one ride. R.I.P.

This is the truth. I am always a little unnerved by people are unerringly friendly, happy and funny. My cousin was like that. The life of every family party. I learned of the darkness in him a few months before he did it. I tried to stop it. Tried to help. There was nothing any of us could do to pull him away from the infinite gravity of the black hole he was falling in to. I thought he was doing better when he came by my house the day before and played some Halo on my XBOX with me. That was just his "goodbye."

Her family does not know a reason. They were approached by officers in their home who told them about her death. They had spoken to her just days before and said there was no suspicion of any problems or anything wrong. Many of her friends here in Houston mentioned speaking to her just before, making plans for a weekend ride.

This is a complete shock. She must have been in a terrible place, even a woman as loved as Lynette, to feel so alone that taking her life was the only option.

so sorry to hear this Brandy, my "adopted" sister of 25 years took her own life last week. I will never know what drives a person this far, knowing so many loved them, but in the end....wasn't enough. One of my top questions for when I get there. RIP Lynette.

Very sad to hear. My little sister made an attempt last year but thankfully my father randomly showed up to visit her and was able to get help before she checked out. It's something to see this happen to people who you'd never expect it from.

You're absolutely right...sometimes the biggest smiles hide the darkest pain. RIP young lady, battling personal demons can be an exhausting struggle.

Ugh. I hate this. I had two suicides in my life last year. One was pretty straight forward. The other was completely out of the blue. What is unsettling for those left behind are the obvious unanswered questions. I found the wondering why the individual felt such drastic measures were necessary most bothering . Especially when the actions just before death are so deliberate towards the future.

Questions that can never be answered.

Suicide has touched my life, as well. I hate to say, but it runs in my family (dad's side). I've had several cousins commit suicide. I've never understood any of it.

Jr. High was the first of a friend, but when I was just shy of my 16th birthday, my best friend killed herself. She was only 15, too. She never gave any indication that she was considering, never spoke of sadness or any secrets that were troubling. Then one day she was dead. I'll never forget standing around her grave on that snowing February day in Los Alamos. I think the wind chill was -15F. It wasn't until a few weeks later that everybody learned she was pregnant.

Since then, it seems as though it's actually becoming MORE popular. I wish I could do something, help in some way. I think that people who actually go through with it don't really talk about it; that's why we're always so surprised.

I still can't believe this. I keep thinking we're going to find out there was foul play or it was an accident. I know that's not really going to happen, but I still keep expecting it.

Lynette was the only woman I was ever jealous of (for a fleeting moment)! She was absolutely perfect in my eyes. She was so happy and carefree and fun! Everybody loved her all the time. In retrospect, I guess there probably was a sadness to her that I just wasn't willing to see. If anything, this has made me look harder at my friends. It's made me more aware of how they're REALLY doing.

Please don't ever dismiss somebody reaching out to you. You never know when they just need a friend.

That sucks. I wonder if it isnt foul play? I guess we wont know unless the details of the death are produced. Suicide is always a convenient way to stage a murder these days. I hope that her family finds closure.

I met her once, she seemed normal by all means.
