Best roads up north for newbies

Was wondering road you guys would recommend. I live North of Houston past kingwood. I'm new so I am looking for some good cruising roads, mainly to make myself a little more comfortable, and road confident.

FM 149 through Sam Houston National Forest to FM3090. it's west of I-45

btw, it's a twisty road....and should be cruised on...lots of bikers out there, and lots of cops as well. my advise is to cruise, and get to know the bike's handling

Yes , the roads name or number would help. I ride out to Crosby sometimes and would like to get lost ( figure of speech ) for a few hours on the bike sometime in the future.
