rider down today, Friday 10/3?

My niece tells me a friend of hers, Juan, went down hard and may not make it. Crushed organs, a lot of blood loss. Don't know the bike, or where the wreck was, or what hospital he's in although he might be getting transferred.

Haven't found any news articles yet - anybody heard anything?

Just an update for whoever cares, he seems to be alright now. "Just" a broken arm and leg.

Thank you for the update. It's never a good thing when someone goes down. Prayers for a full recovery for the rider.

He's a friend of mine, real humble guy doesn't ride aggressive and he's a good rider. Im not sure how he went down, but looking at his gear injuries I really want to say someone hit him. But idk, as soon as I heard about it I left work, went to trauma center he couldn't really talk right he hit his head pretty hard so just hung around til visiting hours were over (geared up, like always)

He followed a friend home that night to make sure he got home his friend is a newer rider, it was wet/rraining a bit that night.

After he madr sure his friend made it home safe, he headed home. His friend texted him asking if he made it home but never got a response so in the morning got worried, started making calls to hospital and found him at one. No police or ambulance report, apparently a private contracted ambulance picked him up and they don't do reports often if they're in a hurry to get someone to a hospital

The ambulance is required to file a medical report if they want to get paid. Plus the hospital he was taken to would have requested one as a record of care. Sound fishy to me, but glad he's recovering well. Houston is filled with so many bad drivers, I have to set strict limits on myself on when I can ride and where I can ride.

Maybe itll pop up later, but they hospitsl staff said it's common for a report not to be filled if its one of those private contracting parties if they're in a huge rush to get to the hospital. Ill ask more when I go visit him again which will be this weekend.

He's awake now, doing better than before.
