Aprilia RS50

I have a chance to pick up an Aprilia RS50 for a reasonable price. I have to get new tires, a bonded title, and some other odds and ends but was wondering if this little bike is worth it? It has the "big bore" kit and I am sure it will be fun in the twisty sections but slow everywhere else and I live where there are not a lot of twisties. I was wondering on anybody elses experiences?

I have one with the big bore kit. They are a blast. Tops out at around 60 mph. I live in the Heights though, so I use it around town.

Oops you said Ride Smart not Sr. I have The scooter. The Sr will be even more fun for around town. Not so much on the open road.

Would be fun at GSS. Its small enough that you might be able to run it at the Katy kart track.

Picking up the RS50 today (birthday present to myself). New tires and a list of stuff from AF1 to follow.

Wow! What a grin machine! I love two-strokes. Glad I didn't spend four times as much and get a Grom. No offense to those who have a Grom.

Oops, really a 2001. came with some spare bits including a complete lower end/crank. Hopefully I can get some new tires on it while we still have some weather that I can ride it in (northern Il and we had snow flurries last Saturday morning!).

It's really quite simple, I don't like the extra maintenance, mixing fuel, the fact that they must be ridden hard all the time, fouling plugs, etc..

The power is pretty awesome though, I bet that's a fun little bike.
