Texans' DJ Swearinger, DeAndre Hopkins reunite with Bills' Sammy Watkins

Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger played against Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins while the two were in college at Clemson and remembers what it was like to cover the speedster.

"Very explosive, very fast. Can make a big play on any play," said Swearinger.

Someone also knows Watkins pretty well is Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The two played together for three years with Clemson, forming one of the nation's most formidable wide receiving duos.

"It's the mentality that we have that we're the best wide receivers on the field no matter who's out there with us," said Hopkins.

Hopkins said Watkins is like a brother to him and both of their families have grown closer throughout the years.

"When he came in [to Clemson], I was his best friend. He was my best friend and we talk just about every other day," Hopkins said.

Hopkins did offer a piece of advice to his defensive teammates as they get ready for Sunday.

"Don't go to sleep if he's not getting the ball or a lot of touches. Just don't fall asleep on him because he can break one. All it takes is one missed tackle," said Hopkins.

The Texans host the Bills at noon Sunday at NRG Stadium. Stay with Local 2 Sports and Click2Houston.com for complete Texans coverage.
