You've already said the RC51 makes a better street bike than the Ninja, which would do better at highway speeds than the Grom. Sounds to me like you've already got a street bike then where you could just throw gear on whenever and have fun zoomie times around town.

If Ninja is going to be a better track bike than Grom, seems to me an easy decision. For what you say you're seeing as the difference in price you could get Ninja AND a fiddy for a little less than Grom, if you just want a mini to play around on.

Don't get me wrong, Grom looks like a blast, I just can't find a way to justify the price of one until they start to come down around maybe $1500 or so.

^ Some pretty good reasoning. If my BF gets a Grom I'll at least be able to ride one and see if I like it. Then I can grab a Ninja and track it most of the time rather than the pig of an RC haha
