Ride with FRIENDS. If you want to be in a group ride, ride with YOUR small group. Ride ahead or well behind. You wont miss anything good by doing this. You may however miss being laid up in the street getting run over by the pack or worse.

That's why legit rides have rules and a riders meeting so everyone is on the same page. I don't encourage wheelies, but if someone is inclined to do it I tell them to do it away from the group. One goal of every group ride should be to keep any rider from colliding with another.

I had a strict no wheelie rule when I'd put on noob rides. Moderate and fast rides got to the point where I'd no longer post them and just get a few buddies together instead. Big group rides aren't that bad as long as there are safety rules and organization rules. I've been on rides with 40+ plus and nothing bad happen and been on rides with less than 10 and have multiple wrecks. All about rules and the others you're riding with.

This actually happen to me along time ago. The dude was riding a wheelie and changed lanes to avoid a truck. The guy ended up setting his front tire on my back seat. Then he fell into the left lane, where the f250 he avoided ran him over like a speed bump. I saved it and didn't wreck.
Remember that Slash24???

Yep. I'm mostly solo anymore. Seen too many incidents in rides to chance it anymore.
