motorcycle vs F1 vs supercar race

The motorcycle instantly took a huge lead but the cars caught up and the triangle looking car beat him, awww. I dont know how to make the gif pic display exactly on the page instead of down at the bottom.

http://sploid.gizmodo.com/heres-a-f1...ain-1633824913

For a second, you think maybe the motorcycle has a chance*in this Top Gear since it screams to a lead but then the land-based jet machine insanity known as an F1 race car steps it up and the other two are fighting not to get lapped by the closest thing we have to a teleportation device on Earth.

Marc Webber raced the F1 car, Jamie Whincup was in the superar and Casey Stoner used the motorcycle.

You can't beat a F1 on a road course, even with that CBR1000RR
Marquez's Honda RC213V would make it more of a fair fight.
The F1 was sandbagging the start

I guess aerodynamics is a thing. If only stoner has a huge wing on his helmet to give him more downforce.

Why would they use and F1, a super car and a street legal motorcycle? If they were able to make this, how hard would it be to bring a GP bike? Not sure it would have changed the results, just that it would be nicer to watch

I'd like to see how much difference it would have made if he was riding an IOMTT bike, an actual race bike w/top end tuning and performance parts. Give it some real tires rather than some Shinko that didn't even get heated up. I don't think I'd want to drag knee on cold tires. Even if you take a street bike and put on decent exhaust, track plastic and get weight reduction by removing all that street stuff like mirrors, horn, lights and all the wiring and bs that goes with it, it's still not a top end race bike. That is a top end F1.

He was prolly running Alero 87 fuel too.

I know it's impossible to hold the corners or brake like an F1. It's been said that an F1 car has enough air control that once it reaches 80mph it can literally drive on an inverted surface because they're so light and have so much force applied by aerodynamics.

To me, all things were not realatively equal b/w the three. It was like an F22 Raptor vs private business jet vs a really nice hot air balloon with a cool basket and colorful picture on the balloon.

I doubt having any motorcycle would have made any difference. Look at record lap times at COTA between f1 and motogp and it's not only f1 cars that smoke motogp bikes.

Also as a side note I doubt casey stoner would agree to ride a bike not on race rubber.

I think it's interesting though that it takes a V8 Supercar to keep up with a street legal bike.

I would like to see that same comparison done with a true race bike as well... maybe without the F1, as it still wouldn't even be close.

Ktm vs ktm, not sure of the legitimacy of the test but entertaining at least.

It's a well known FACT that in my mind KTM RC8 is the first bike that has won every single race including races they weren't even in. Because it's a FACT that in my mind I'm their greatest rider of all time when I'm on my RC8. Even though I don't have one yet.

Since I hold the same distinction for Ducati, maybe we need to arrange a little competition.

You're a terrible rider. It was a boring race. In my mind I've beaten you so many times I'm thinking of changing my name to Rice!

Haven't seen a post yet where anyone believes a motorcycle will beat a F1 car

So why complain about the motorcycle used if the fastest one would still lose?

Because there was more than one car in that race, duh. My first post is pretty clear

I passed you so fast, it sucked the ugly orange paint off your slow KTM. That was after I had to unplug a spark plug to try and make it fair

Not really complaining, but I'd like to see what difference there is when all things are "relatively" equal.

I doubt Mr. Stoner was riding at the edge of his ability. It was really like watching 3 different time trials that just happen to be on the same track at the same time.

Would have been more interesting to me if he rode two of his favorite personal OTS street bikes to the very best he could and then see how they match up to the bike he rides professionally. I'd also like to see my gf naked, and the difference in OTS street bikes with street tires vs track tires - all on the same bike.
