I like the part about bikes blocking traffic to enter feeder and ramp, and leaving when the cops kick us off. Sounds hella fun.

I doubt the cops will bug us. I have done 2 huge rides to Galveston and parked out on Cherry Hill. Never had any issues with the police. I don't know about you pigfarmer but I ride, not drive.

AND riding with a bunch of other bikes is nice. When riding with many others I prefer the simple straight shot. No more than 6 deep when riding the real fun stuff.

Plus, gotta love working as a team to escort the cars. Thats always fun.

but... Haters gona hate.

I have a problem with any group that thinks it's ok to block ramps or disrupt traffic without a police escort. Do the rides but do it legally. Don't help give motorcyclists a bad image with the public. Bikers make it bad enough already.

Why stay on 45? why not actually make it interesting by finding less used back roads that actually have things to look at?

There are plenty of construction cones to look at on the way there. What are you talking about. lol.

Honestly, there really isn't a fun route to get there. Even if you were to come the back way in through San Luis Pass. I know they (HPD) has done that before. If you are going there with the idea that it is going to be some fun twisty route, of course there isn't a way and shouldn't be the reason for going in the first place. It is what it is, a parade of cars, some common like Mustangs, Cameros, Dodge Challengers, and Chargers mixed with the occasional Ferrari or Lambo. If you are into that, then it could be fun, if you are into ripping up the roads and dragging a knee everytime you ride your bike, then obviously, the trip isn't for you. I can appreciate both.

I think you're forgetting that this fun run to Galveston is more important than what anyone else trying to drive down 45 that day is doing. The cars absolutely need a motorcycle escort--if it weren't for the bikes blocking the road, the cars might get somewhat separated which would invariably cause them to crash into one another as they frantically tried to punch "Galveston" into their phone's GPS app.

I'll probably be in the cruise, but my girl and I will be in the Mustang. Cruising straight to Galveston on the bike is over-rated.

I hope that is an attempt at sarcasm...
My sister is a nurse at UTMB and gets paged all the time to run an emergency in the heart cath lab.

I mean, I know this is the internet so I don't have the benefit of tone of voice or body language to help convey that I'm being sarcastic, but I thought that one was a little more obvious. I think it's ridiculous that people would think that their car cruise has the right to block traffic from getting on the freeway just so the cars stay together. These guys are not more important than me going to Galveston to fly a freakin' kite on the beach, much less your sister's ability to render medical aid.

I'd not only be upset if I got blocked by a gang of bikes, but I'd likely be quite anxious and/or nervous. I don't know if anyone recalls the video of the range rover that got blocked in, windows smashed, and driver pulled out and assaulted a little while ago, but I'd immediately be thinking about how to get out of what could be an undesirable situation. I mean, after all, these bikers have no problem breaking the law to stop my advance onto the freeway, who knows what other kind of laws they're willing to break?

TLDR; it's stupid to block the traffic.
