The one that got away....What was your first street bike?

When I was shopping for my first street bike back in the late 80's, top of my wish list was VF500F interceptor... Found a 1985 yellow RZ350 on a Greensheet and went to test ride it. Remember...I was new to riding street bike. Love the way it looked. But... kick start, smoky tail pipe and crazy 2 stroke power band was reason I past on the RZ. Could not keep the front wheel on the ground. For those same reasons, I would love to ride it again today. By the way, ended up buying a 1989 EX500 (great first bike). So, tell me what was your first bike or one that got away?

Everybody told me I was crazy for buying a big bike for my first but I told myself, "It will only go as fast as my right hand tells it to. If I keep in mind I have zero experience I'll be Ok".

To a large extent, I was. I had a couple of minor accidents none entirely my fault, but it all worked out.
That's me being stupid on it going to Galveston in about 1982, in my avatar pic.

Texmex1, nice bike. I purchased a 1987 FZ600 brand new. The dual headlights made it super fast.

my first bike was a 1985 Suzuki GS550e. I wouldn't exactly say she "got away". I sold her for like 400 or 500 bucks back in 98, so I could buy a "real sport bike"....an 88 katana. lol unfortunately, I don't think I have any pics of it....this is for reference.

First street bike I ever rode was a HIGHLY modified zx11, had to throttle it at about 60mph on the feeder road of 290 to get out from behind a dump truck hauling pea gravel that was spilling out the back and bouncing 6ft in the air, boy did I not expect that front end to come off the ground like lightning! Made short work of getting in front of it though.

My first bike. 900rr only had it for a couple months. I didn't know anyone that rode motorcycles, didn't have any guidance whatsoever. No ideas forums existed etc. Just a 19 year old with $3200~~ish saved up for a engagement ring lmao didn't have to buy that anymore so bought something much better? Either things would have probably ended up killing me and one almost did.

Edit: I did google between a cbr 600 and 900rr. Acceleration wasnt a huge difference but the top speed made me choose the 900rr hahahaha.
